1. IMPORTANT NOTICE ON CONSULAR SERVICES

1) As from Monday, July 19, the Embassy's Consular Section will be open to the public daily from 9:00am to 11:30am only to receive visa applications and other notary acts and from 14:00pm to 15:00pm only to collect passports and return documents already processed, after the presentation of the bank receipt. For Brazilian nationals, the Sector will remain open to the public from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

2) In the morning, there will be a daily distribution of a limited number of entry passes to visas applicants and applicants for other consular services (documents) and their representatives. Those who have already paid the fees and come only to collect their passports / documents are not required to queue for entry passes.

3) Entry passes will only be given to those who are applying for visas in person or their legal representatives.

4) It is recommended that applicants for visas do not arrive before 8:00am at the gate of the Embassy. The recruitment of intermediaries to "save" places in the queue is expressly discouraged, since all applicants will be able to apply in a reasonable period of time, though perhaps not on the same day. The cost and risk of making use of such intermediaries is the sole responsibility of those directly concerned.

2. NEW BRAZILIAN CONSULAR SYSTEM

Starting on January 19th, 2010, the Consular Section of the Brazilian Embassy will issue biometric passports for Brazilian nationals and biometric visas for foreign citizens.
